Lupinus (Lupinus) – a decorative plant from the legume family, which attracts attention with its bright color palette and tall spike-like inflorescences. The plant height can reach 100–120 cm, and flowers vary from white and pink to deep blue, purple, yellow, and multiple combinations. The butterfly-shaped buds are arranged in dense vertical racemes that bloom from bottom to top, creating an impressive visual display.
In addition to aesthetic value, lupin has significant agronomic role. The root system can fix atmospheric nitrogen thanks to symbiotic bacteria, thereby enriching the soil and improving its structure. This makes the plant in demand in crop rotation: after planting lupin, the yield of subsequent crops noticeably increases.
Lupin is easily grown as an annual and perennial, which allows using it in various types of gardens – from open areas to limited urban territories. Tall inflorescences effectively fill vertical space, creating a cozy atmosphere and giving the landscape an unique character.
