TIMIRIAZEVSKIY

White Lupin «Timiriazevskiy» is a dwarf plant 40–50 cm tall with determinant growth and a bushy shape. Leaves are green, and the flower has a racemose inflorescence of 20–30 green flowers on medium peduncles. Pods are long, shattering type, with a strong parchment layer; each pod usually contains 10–12 seeds. Seeds are medium size (8–10 mm), round-cornered shape, white with a cream tint, weighing 350–360 g per 1000 pieces.

The variety is distinguished by high yield – from 35 to 45 centners of grain per hectare – and resistance to drought, lodging, pod cracking, and pests. Thanks to the sturdy structure of the pods, seeds do not scatter during ripening, which facilitates harvesting and improves the quality of fodder grain.

«Timiriazevskiy» is valued as a feed plant for animals and the basis for compound feeds. Fodder grain contains 36–38% crude protein and 10–11% fat, making it particularly useful in industrial poultry farming. Moreover, lupin seeds are rich in proteins, vitamins (B, E), minerals (calcium, magnesium, iron), and carotenoids, as well as alkaline protein, which reduces uric acid formation – this is important for people with rheumatic diseases. Such a comprehensive profile makes the «Timiriazevskiy» variety in demand both in agriculture and in the food industry, where lupin flour is used to make high-protein diet bread.
