Lupin RED SAIL

A Reliable Choice for Landscapes

The «Aly Parus» (Scarlet Sail) lupine, developed by the Williams FSRI, is a practical solution for those looking to add vertical impact to their landscape with minimal maintenance requirements. Standing at 130 cm, this variety offers consistent performance and structural integrity, making it a reliable performer for any garden layout.

Maintenance and Operational Details

• Structural Support: Given its height of 130 cm, wind exposure is the primary factor to consider. In open or exposed areas, light staking is recommended to prevent stem lodging. In protected spots, the variety maintains its upright growth habit effortlessly.
• Maintenance Workflow: The cultivar is exceptionally low-maintenance. The key to successful establishment is well-draining soil; providing a sandy base in the planting hole is highly recommended if dealing with heavy clay, as this prevents root rot issues.
• Resource Efficiency: As a nitrogen-fixing plant, «Aly Parus» improves soil quality naturally, effectively reducing the need for intensive fertilization programs in the surrounding beds.

Unlike more temperamental perennials, this variety handles fluctuations in moisture well, maintaining turgor even during short dry spells. Operationally, the most important task is the timely removal of spent flower spikes. This prevents aggressive self-seeding and allows the plant to redirect its energy into root development for overwintering. For the garden manager, this means a clean, manageable, and visually striking display that requires very little intervention throughout the growing season.
