DescriptionStart
Lupine "START" is an annual leguminous plant distinguished by its vivid decorative beauty and high adaptability to various climatic conditions. The plant height ranges from 80 cm to 1.5 m, and its large spikes can be single-colored or contrasting in shades of blue-violet, blue, cream, white, red, and purple. The leaves are palmate, long-stalked, and slightly hairy, giving the bush a lush appearance.
One of the key advantages of lupine "START" is its ability to fix nitrogen – the plant has a well-developed taproot system that penetrates the soil to a depth of more than two meters. This makes it an excellent cover crop and green fertilizer, capable of absorbing difficult-to-access nutrients even in less fertile soils. Lupine does not require strict conditions: it is resistant to soil acidification but cannot tolerate waterlogging and highly calcareous substrates.
The floristic value of lupine is manifested in its prolonged flowering – 20–30 days, and upon removal of flower stalks, the plant can bloom again. Flowers do not release nectar but are rich in pollen, making them attractive to bees and other pollinators. "START" is excellent as a decorative element for flower beds, rabatki, and compositions, creating bright accents in the garden thanks to saturated colors and pleasant aroma.
Lupine "START" is also characterized by frost hardiness: seedlings withstand frosts up to -6–8 degrees, and seeds germinate at a temperature of 2–4 degrees. It prefers moderately moist soil and a light spot, but easily adapts to various soils – from neutral to weakly acidic.
Thus, lupine "START" combines decorative qualities, agro-technical advantages, and ecological benefits, making it a valuable addition for both gardeners and farmers seeking to improve soil quality and create a picturesque landscape.
