DescriptionGhana
White lupin variety "Ghana" is an early-maturing legume intended both for grain and fodder purposes. The plant has an upright habit, reaching a height of 60–65 cm during the onset of flowering and at full maturity. The determinate growth type ensures a compact sowing area structure.
The variety is distinguished by high yield – about 25 centners per hectare – and drought resistance, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones. Leaves are green, and stems have almost no anthocyanin coloring. Flowers have a blueish-white hue with a black-edged keel tip. Pods at the green pod stage are long, and at full maturity the grain remains white and does not contain bitter substances.
For successful cultivation of lupin "Ghana", use loam or sandy soil ensuring good drainage. Sowing is usually carried out in April; for winter sowing, seeds are laid at a depth of 2 cm and covered with peat or manure. Maturation is early, and the time of flowering onset is early, allowing harvest within one season.
