Prominy (Leninets) is a perennial lupine distinguished by its cold hardiness and love for light. The plant reaches a height of 70 to 100 cm and forms dense, multicolored spikes that appear in early summer. Flowers are gathered in bright racemes, where various shades are combined – from delicate pastel tones to rich burgundy and raspberry nuances.
For successful cultivation, it is recommended to sow seeds in March–June at a soil temperature of +15‑20 °C. Seedlings appear within 21–28 days, after which the plants are transplanted into 8 cm diameter pots and then to their permanent location with a 60 cm interval. It is important to water regularly and loosen the soil to ensure optimal growing conditions. Before sowing, seeds can be soaked in cool water for 24 hours to accelerate germination.
Prominy is excellent for decorating flower beds, rabatok, and flower gardens, and is often used as a cut flower due to its bright and durable inflorescences. The plant prefers sunny locations and loose, fertile soil without excess alkalinity. After flowering ends, moderate pruning of flower stalks can be performed to stimulate new growth. Thanks to its unpretentiousness and beautiful appearance, this lupine fits easily into both group plantings and individual compositions.
