PARABELSKAYA

The 'Parabelskaya' honeysuckle variety – a vigorously growing bush up to 1.8 m high with a rounded crown and medium density. Bushes are of medium size, branches are curved, grayish-brown, while one-year-old shoots are light green and densely hairy. Leaves are inverse-ovate, green and matte.

The berries are large, cylindrical in shape, weighing from 0.8 to 3 grams, with a smooth collar at the apex and a slightly bumpy surface. Fruit color – dark violet almost black with a strong waxy bloom, sometimes described as blue with a blue tint. The flesh is dense, juicy, acid-sweet with a strawberry and bilberry aftertaste.

The variety is characterized by early fruiting, early and simultaneous ripening of fruits, as well as high winter hardiness and drought resistance. Yields are medium to high: up to 5 kg per bush. 'Parabelskaya' is self-sterile, but for abundant fruiting, the presence of pollinators is recommended. It is recommended to grow in well-lit areas, if necessary – in light shade; the plant is moisture-loving and requires regular watering, especially in summer. Care includes timely pruning of bushes. The variety is resistant to diseases and pests, but may be affected by ascochyta leaf spot, honeysuckle striped leafhopper, and aphids.

Parabelskaya is suitable for all types of processing due to high transportability and resistance to fruit shedding. This is a universal variety with excellent dessert properties, which is easily harvested in one go and retains quality during transportation.
