Honeysuckle GIFT FOR AMUR PEOPLE

Far Eastern Breeding: The 'Podarok Amurchanam' Honeysuckle

The 'Podarok Amurchanam' variety, developed by scientists at the Far Eastern State Agrarian University (DalGAU), represents a benchmark in adaptive breeding for regions with harsh climates. In the conditions of the Russian Far East, this variety has established itself as one of the most reliable and productive cultivars, balancing extreme temperature tolerance with excellent marketability.

Agronomic Characteristics and Potential

The primary focus of DalGAU's breeding program for this variety was to combine large fruit size with high yield. The bush reaches a height of 1.5–2.0 meters, developing a dense canopy capable of supporting a significant harvest of 3.0–4.0 kg per plant. Berries weighing 2.0–2.5 grams offer a balanced sweet-and-sour flavor, making them ideal for both fresh market sales and industrial processing, such as jams, juices, and freezing.

Market Positioning

For both commercial farms and home gardeners, 'Podarok Amurchanam' offers consistency. Thanks to its origin, the variety demonstrates impressive stability in production. Unlike many introduced varieties that require specific environmental interventions, this cultivar is perfectly adapted to the local soil and climatic conditions, which minimizes crop loss risks. The market reputation of this variety is built on its versatility: its firm skin allows for medium-distance transportation while maintaining its appearance, ensuring it is a viable choice for modern retail supply chains.
