SILGINKA is a large-fruited blueberry honeysuckle variety that distinguishes itself with exceptional taste qualities and high yield. Berries reach up to 3.5 cm in size, have an oval-elongated shape, and feature a rich dark-blue color with a waxy bloom. The pulp is juicy, sweet, and without bitterness, while the thin skin is almost unnoticeable upon consumption. Fruits ripen at the end of June, making them a popular choice for early harvests.
SILGINKA bushes are of medium height (up to 1.5 m in height and 1.2 m in width) with straight, hard branches forming a round, compact crown of medium density. Leaves are dark-green, oval-oblong in shape, with a matte surface. The variety is resistant to extreme climatic conditions: frost resistance reaches -45 °C, and heat resistance allows growing it even in warmer regions. Thanks to good immunity and stable yield (from 1.5 to 3 kg/bush), SILGINKA easily adapts to various soil conditions.
The variety is self-sterile, but for maximum fruit output, it is recommended to plant it near the 'Bakcharsky Velykan' variety. During harvesting, berries can be shaken off, however, they are prone to shedding – up to 30% of the yield may drop. Despite this, SILGINKA remains one of the most demanded honeysuckle varieties due to the combination of high fruit quality, ease of care, and excellent transportability.
