Kuminov's Memory – a one-year variety of honeysuckle, characterized by a medium-sized, semi-spreading bush with medium density and a rounded crown. The bush features straight shoots of medium thickness, light-green leaves with medium fuzziness, and a brownish-red leaf tint in some descriptions.
The fruits of this variety are large and barrel-shaped: average weight – 1.3–1.4 g, maximum up to 1.6 g. Skin is of medium thickness, sometimes thin, with a bumpy surface; pulp is medium-dense. Taste is dessert-like, sweet, without bitterness, rated at 4.8–4.9 points. Berries contain about 5.6% sugar and 1.8% acid, as well as 36.1 mg of vitamin C per 100 g.
The variety is distinguished by an early ripening period, winter hardiness, heat tolerance, and drought resistance. It is self-sterile, but if desired, pollinator varieties such as Antoshka, Lonya, Blue Dessert, Blue Spindle, Kamchadal, Malvina, Morena, Blue Bird, and Start can be used. Yield is high – from 2.2 to 2.7 kg/bush, and studies noted a yield of about 77 centners/hectare.
Kuminov's Memory is suitable for industrial cultivation with mechanized harvesting and has universal purposes: as dessert berries and for processing. The variety is resistant to major diseases and pests, but not resistant to phyllosticta. It is recommended for trials in the Central Black Earth region of the Russian Federation and other similar climatic zones.
