Description
The Sinichka currant variety is a vigorous berry bush reaching up to 2 meters in height with a rounded crown. The berries of this variety are large, elongated or cylindrical in shape, weighing about 1 gram, with a thin and tender skin of rich blue or black color with a bluish bloom. The fruit flesh has a pleasant sour-sweet taste and aroma, making them universal for fresh consumption as well as for making jams, compotes, and other culinary products. The variety begins to bear fruit already in the second year after planting, providing a yield of 2 to 7 kilograms per bush.
«Sinichka» is characterized by high frost resistance, capable of withstanding temperatures down to -30°C, and possesses good disease resistance. The plant prefers sunny locations and neutral loamy soils without waterlogging. The optimal time for planting is autumn or early spring before sap flow begins. For successful pollination, it is recommended to plant varieties «Fortuna», «Malvina», and «Vitaminnaya» nearby. Pruning is carried out starting from the sixth year of the bush's life, removing sick branches and side shoots to maintain plant health and productivity.
The berries of the Sinichka currant are a valuable source of vitamins C, A, E, PP, as well as trace elements, including iron, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and calcium. Berries have medium shelf life and require storage in cool conditions, spread in a thin layer. Transportation is possible in small containers, which allows maintaining their attractive appearance and taste qualities. Due to their characteristics and unpretentiousness, the «Sinichka» variety is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking an early and vitamin-rich harvest.
