Festuca 'Tenderness' – a decorative perennial grass plant, distinguished by compact, spherical clumps ranging from 20 to 60 cm in height and narrow leaves with curved blades in a bluish-gray shade. As temperatures drop, the leaves become lighter but maintain their decorative appearance, while small gray flowers on upright stems add a touch of softness to the composition.
The plant is excellent for landscape design: it can be used as a ground cover and border grass in gardens, parks, and pathways. Thanks to its broad, branched root system, festuca retains moisture and suppresses weed growth, while its curled leaves conserve water during evaporation, making the plant drought-resistant.
Care for 'Tenderness' is simple: it prefers sunny, open areas with light sandy or well-drained soil. Moderate watering – 2–3 times a week, and monthly fertilization with nitrogen fertilizers maintains a dense turf layer. Regular pruning and removal of dry leaves help prevent infections of the root systems and pests, such as aphids and spider mites.
