Fescue Malachite

Practical Application of 'Malakhit' Fescue

'Malakhit' is a selective achievement by Russian researchers (FSBSI FRC of Vegetable Growing) widely used in landscaping and residential plot development. Due to its plasticity, this tall fescue variety has become a sought-after solution for establishing sustainable turf in temperate climate regions.

Usage Scenarios

• Decorative Lawn Establishment: The primary objective for sowing this variety is to form a dense, aesthetically pleasing turf. It is highly regarded for its deep emerald color, which remains vibrant throughout the growing season.
• Park and Garden Landscaping: With plant heights ranging from 20 to 60 cm, 'Malakhit' is well-suited for areas with low foot traffic where a natural, organic look is required.
• Soil Protection: The robust root system of this variety makes it an excellent choice for stabilizing slopes and areas prone to erosion.

Agronomists and landscaping specialists choose this variety for its predictable development. When establishing a lawn, it is important to remember that 'Malakhit' requires standard fescue irrigation and mowing protocols. Depending on light conditions and soil type, plant height can vary: in open, sunny areas with regular aeration, the plants form a compact structure, while in shaded conditions with sufficient nutrients, they can reach a vegetative mass of up to 60 cm. Using this variety minimizes the need for annual overseeding, as the fescue is known for its strong winter hardiness and longevity in grass mixtures.
