Description IVICA
Festuca ovina 'Ivica' – a perennial ornamental grass from the Festuca ovina genus, known for its bright blue-green leaf hue and compact growth of 20–60 cm. The plant forms dense, nearly spherical tufts of thin, finely divided leaves with upright stems, giving it an elegant appearance in landscape areas. Thanks to its drought resistance and frost resistance down to –10 °C, 'Ivica' easily roots in sandy, well-drained soils and quickly fills space, creating an effective ground cover.

In decorative landscape design, festuca is used as an element of compositions with flowers and shrubs, as well as as a border along roads and sidewalks. It prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations, but does not require frequent watering after rooting – just once a week if the temperature is above 20 °C. Care for the plant is simple: removing excess leaves and tufts with cutting maintains the shape, while soil looseness and good drainage help avoid fungal infestations, such as powdery mildew.

The advantages of the 'Ivica' variety include bright blue-green color, resistance to adverse climatic conditions, and low irrigation requirements. This makes it an ideal choice for those who want to add a picturesque, durable element to the garden or park without complex care. Thanks to its compactness and dense growth, the plant is also suitable for use in containers and small flowerbeds, where it maintains its decorative effect year-round.
