Rapid

Rapid is a high-quality sports grass mixture developed by the Dutch company Barenbrug. The combination of 75% perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) and 25% Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) ensures excellent wear resistance under intensive use, as well as fast regeneration after overseeding. Thanks to its strong root system, the grass is not pulled out completely when mowed – only the upper part of the leaves is cut, which allows maintaining a dense and even lawn even with frequent maintenance.

Rapid differs in its high ability to recover: after winter, the plant quickly regrows, and after overseeding it reaches full growth within 20–30 days. This makes it an ideal choice for "repair" works on football and sports fields where minimal downtime is required. The sowing rate is 30–40 g/m² when creating a new lawn and 20 g/m² when overseeding.

The external appearance of the grass is characterized by upright bushes of medium density, green smooth stems, and narrow linear leaves with a blunt tongue. The spikelets have a lanceolate shape, and the seeds are dark brown. The variety is fast-maturing, resistant to diseases and pests, provides up to three cuts during the season, and ensures an average dry matter yield of about 115 c/ha, reaching maximum values of up to 195 c/ha.
