Ryegrass ANGUS 1

ANGUS 1 is a perennial ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam. var. westerwoldicum Wittm.) characterized by erect growth and high resistance to lodging, making it an ideal choice for quick and easy forage harvesting.

The variety is distinguished by early regrowth: the first cut is achieved 54 days after emergence, and the second – only 46 days later. This allows for rapid turf formation and ensures early forage production. High productivity is reflected in the yield of green mass for the first cut – 75 c/ha, and the second – 50 c/ha, and dry matter accordingly 21.0 and 13.8 c/ha.

Key characteristics include rust resistance, which is important for maintaining pasture quality in case of possible infection. The variety has good taste properties due to its tetraploid structure, and the green color of the flag leaf and up to 18 cm long spike make it attractive both aesthetically and functionally. Overall, ANGUS 1 is a reliable component for grass mixtures, ensuring stable productivity and high forage quality.
