The "BARAYKA" oat variety is a diploid perennial grass with semi-erect growth and medium height at flowering. Seedlings are sown in autumn, and the leaves have a green color with medium length and width. In the first year of sowing, there is no tendency or only a weak tendency to form inflorescences; in subsequent years, inflorescences usually appear, but they do not significantly affect the structure of the crop.
"BARAYKA" is distinguished by its high resistance to turf grasses, making it ideal for use as turf oat grass. With proper care, the plant maintains its shape and density even after many years of growth. Thanks to its moderate height and short leaves, the variety provides good coverage, protecting the soil from erosion.
The crop is widely used in agriculture for hay and fodder production: hay yield is 5–7 tons per hectare, and green mass yield is 15–25 tons. Oat "BARAYKA" is also suitable for mixed plantings, where its share can range from 10 to 25 kg/ha depending on the cultivation purpose. The variety withstands frost and can survive with proper fertilization, allowing it to maintain productivity for many years.
