Operational Performance

During establishment, 'Barcesar' shows strong germination energy. In the first year, while the root system is developing, you need to be careful with the first cut. However, by the second year, the tillering is so dense that it naturally suppresses almost all weed competition. In terms of maintenance, it’s a low-effort crop; it doesn’t require complex agronomic tricks beyond standard nitrogen fertilization after each cut to keep the biomass production steady.

Forage Quality and Durability

For me, yield isn't everything—palatability matters. Thanks to Barenbrug's breeding, the leaves of 'Barcesar' remain relatively soft even as the plant matures. Livestock eat it readily, and the nutritional value stays consistent throughout the season.

• Regrowth: Recovers quickly after cutting, allowing for 3-4 harvests per season, even without artificial irrigation.
• Winter Hardiness: After three years of operation, we haven't seen any thinning, despite significant temperature swings.
