Red Fescue «Barustik» is a perennial, low-growing turfgrass variety with narrow leaves and underground rhizomes, suitable for creating durable lawns and landscape projects. Plants reach a height of 15–20 cm per year under optimal conditions, with leaf lengths up to 8–10 cm. The cover density is medium-heavy, ensuring good wear resistance and a dense lawn even after frequent mowing.
The variety has a low fertilizer requirement: moderate application of nitrogen and potassium fertilizers is sufficient to maintain health. Water consumption is economical, although irrigation is recommended no more than 2–3 times a week during prolonged drought. «Barustik» is resistant to cold and extreme climatic conditions, and tolerates shade and irregular mowing well.
Key advantages include high yields of green mass (from 105 kg/ha to 213 kg/ha) and dry matter (10.8–51.1 kg/ha), as well as resistance to fungal infections such as powdery mildew, root rot, and mold, and to pests – aphids, bugs, and arachnid insects. Herbicides and insecticides are applied as needed based on manufacturer recommendations.
«Barustik» is widely used for creating lawns on sports fields, playgrounds, parks, and in decorative landscape projects due to its ease of care and longevity. With proper care – regular watering and moderate fertilization – a dense and healthy cover is achieved, which maintains its beauty and functionality for many years.
