Fescue Livista

Engineering approach to turf density

The Livista red fescue from the German breeding company Deutsche Saatveredelung is the result of advanced genetic development of Festuca rubra. Unlike standard grass mixtures, this variety is engineered to produce highly decorative surfaces where visual aesthetics are matched by physical resilience.

Biological solutions in crop protection

The core value of Livista lies in selective breeding aimed at resistance to specific pathogens that frequently compromise decorative lawns. Resistance to fusarium and red thread is achieved through dense tillering and high tissue regeneration rates. This is critical in high-humidity environments, where fungal infections can rapidly damage well-maintained turf.

Agrotechnical parameters and performance

• Aesthetics: A rich dark-green pigment is maintained even under moderate shade, allowing Livista to stand out against lighter green alternatives.
• Seeding rate: An optimal rate of 20-30 g/m² ensures a dense stand that effectively suppresses weed growth through a robust root system.
• Application: The variety demonstrates adaptability for both private residential landscapes and professional decorative greening projects.

Integrating Livista into a landscape helps reduce reliance on chemical fungicide applications. Strict quality control by the originators (Deutsche Saatveredelung, Euro Grass Breeding KG) ensures batch-to-batch consistency, adhering to the high standards of the professional German seed market.
