Tetragrass is a highly effective perennial ryegrass that combines excellent decorative properties with practical value for lawns and pastures. The variety is characterized by a rich bright green color, uniform leaf texture, and dense coverage, making it an ideal choice for both sowing on its own and in mixtures with other crops. Rapid germination at temperatures above +2 °C and the ability to withstand moderate frosts allow the plant to be used in a wide range of climatic conditions.
Tetragrass is distinguished by high tolerance to trampling, a strong root system, and drought resistance. These qualities make it suitable for equipping roadside sections, residential areas, and lawn mixes where dense and durable turf is required. After cutting, the grass recovers quickly – it can be mowed 2–3 times per season with regular watering or even 5–6 times with regular irrigation, while maintaining color brightness.
To achieve optimal growth, it is recommended to sow seeds at a density of 2–3 kg/100 m² and maintain a cutting height within 4–6 cm. Regular watering and application of nitrogen-rich fertilizers contribute to a rich green leaf color and increase yield of green mass (300–400 c/ha) and hay (70–110 c/ha). Tetragrass also has cover crop properties: abundant roots improve soil structure, increasing its fertility. Thanks to these characteristics, it is a valuable fodder crop for animals and also an effective means of greening and improving the site's ecosystem.
