CALLIOPE is a variety of red fescue (Festuca commutata) that is distinguished by its high density and excellent appearance, maintaining a dark green hue throughout the summer. The variety is intended for pastures with low mowing, where it demonstrates better performance compared to other fescue species.
Calliope seeds are produced at the Danish DLF factory and comply with GOST R 52325-2005 requirements. They have high sowing permeability – up to 4 kg per hectare (100 m²) – which ensures rapid rooting and a dense lawn structure. At a mowing height of 2–3 cm, a lawn resistant to low mowing is formed, suitable for sports grounds and play areas.
Calliope is characterized by good disease resistance: the variety is resistant to red thread and typical fungal infections (powdery mildew, rust). With proper care, serious damage is not observed. For seed storage, a dry place at a temperature up to 25 °C is recommended; the shelf life is 12 months. Thanks to its characteristics, CALLIOPE is suitable both for creating lawns and for greening areas in combination with other fescue varieties.
