Fescue KRASNODARSKAYA 14

Krasnodarskaya 14 Fescue: A Robust Choice for Forage

Developed by the P.P. Lukyanenko National Grain Center, the 'Krasnodarskaya 14' fescue variety is a specialized forage grass designed for resilience and consistency. With a growth height of 20–40 cm, it serves as an excellent low-growing cover that is highly resistant to trampling, making it a superior choice compared to taller, less durable forage grasses.

Key Benefits for Agriculture

• Forage Efficiency: The variety provides reliable biomass for grazing livestock, exhibiting excellent regrowth rates after being mowed or grazed.
• Durability: Known for its dense, vibrant green foliage, the grass maintains a healthy appearance throughout the season, serving both as agricultural feed and a hardy ground cover.
• Breeding Quality: Originating from a premier agricultural research institution, this variety offers reliable performance in specific soil and climatic conditions.

Cultivation Guidelines

To establish a productive pasture, a sowing rate of 20–30 g/m² is recommended. This density is crucial for ensuring the sward is thick enough to crowd out weeds and withstand heavy usage. 'Krasnodarskaya 14' is best suited for farmers looking for long-term pasture solutions that require minimal intervention once established. While it needs careful soil moisture management during the initial germination phase, it becomes remarkably robust and low-maintenance as it matures.
