Fescue VEZELKA

Agricultural Excellence: The «Vezelka» Fescue Variety

The «Vezelka» fescue is a high-performance variety developed by the Krasnoyaruzhskaya Grain Company. The breeding team, including V.I. Chernyavskikh, E.V. Dumacheva, and A.G. Titovsky, focused on creating a cultivar that combines robust plant health with high operational versatility. Today, it serves as a staple choice for both professional forage production and premium landscaping.

Disease Resistance and Adaptability

One of the primary advantages of «Vezelka» is its proven resistance to major agronomic threats, specifically stem rust and rhynchosporium. This genetic resilience allows growers to maintain productive swards even under challenging environmental conditions where less resistant varieties would suffer significant yield loss, reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications.

Versatile Applications

The biological traits of «Vezelka» make it suitable for diverse environments:

• Forage Production: Its ability to provide consistent nutrient-rich biomass and its rapid regrowth after cutting make it a preferred variety for hayfields and managed pastures.
• Landscaping: Known for its density and aesthetic appeal, the variety is widely used in seed mixes for turf and lawns that require durability and a high-quality finish.

Cultivation Guidelines

To ensure optimal stand establishment, the originator recommends a seeding rate of 20–30 g/m². This density is crucial for developing a strong root system and a thick turf that can effectively suppress weed encroachment. By adhering to these standards, users can maximize the genetic potential of this fescue variety.

As a result of rigorous selection standards maintained by the Krasnoyaruzhskaya Grain Company, «Vezelka» stands out as a reliable, high-yield solution for modern agricultural needs.
