Fescue BARVITAL

Field Performance of Barvital Fescue

Selecting the right variety is the foundation of efficient forage production. Barvital, developed by Barenbrug Holland, is a staple choice for growers who prioritize consistency and disease resistance. It is a robust solution designed to handle diverse field conditions with minimal intervention.

Disease Resistance and Crop Health

The standout feature of Barvital is its natural resistance to root rot and powdery mildew. In practice, this means fewer fungicide passes throughout the season. Even in humid weather conditions, where other varieties struggle with leaf health, Barvital maintains a strong, vibrant stand. This level of immunity is a significant advantage for operational budgets, as it reduces the chemical application overhead.

Harvesting and Usage

With plant heights ranging between 120–140 cm, Barvital provides substantial biomass yield. It is highly versatile, serving as both an excellent forage crop and a grain producer. From a harvesting perspective, the crop structure is consistent, allowing for smooth operation and high-efficiency collection of material.

• Dutch genetics by Barenbrug Holland ensure high quality and purity of the seed material.
• High resistance to powdery mildew and root rot significantly lowers maintenance costs.
• Excellent adaptability for both fodder and grain applications, making it a flexible asset for any farm.

Choosing Barvital means choosing a reliable, low-maintenance variety that delivers stable results season after season. It is a pragmatic choice for agronomists who need a dependable yield without constant monitoring and intensive crop protection measures.
