Orchard Grass Smolyanka

Working with Orchard Grass "Smolyanka"

The "Smolyanka" variety, developed by Fgbun Hfits Dvo Ran, has proven to be a reliable choice in real-world conditions. Unlike some sensitive varieties, it handles local temperature fluctuations with ease.

Productivity and Management

The yield potential, ranging from 34.7 to 104 quintals per hectare, is achievable with standard fertilization and management practices. Developed by a team including I. P. Smolyakova and V. F. Cherpak, this variety is clearly engineered to thrive in complex soil and climatic conditions.

• Nutritional Value: High protein content makes it an excellent choice for cattle feed.
• Recovery: It exhibits exceptional regrowth speed after grazing or mowing, allowing for multiple harvests within a single season.
• Durability: The stand remains dense and productive for 5-6 years, which reduces the cost of annual reseeding.

For the operator, the management of "Smolyanka" is straightforward. It is not overly sensitive to moisture levels and holds its own against competitors in the field. If you are looking for a perennial crop that performs consistently without requiring constant intervention, this variety is a top contender. Its ability to produce high-quality forage over many years makes it a solid investment for any livestock operation.
