Fescue GRINSLIVS

Danish excellence in grass seed production

Red fescue variety 'Greensleeves' by DLF is a benchmark for those prioritizing durability and high-performance turf. Unlike many generic seed mixtures, 'Greensleeves' is bred to produce a dense, lush sod that is significantly more resilient to environmental stress. This Danish-bred variety is particularly well-regarded for its slow vertical growth, which drastically reduces the frequency of mowing required, making it a favorite for professional landscape maintenance.

Key performance indicators

• Winter hardiness: Exceptional survival rate in cold climates, ensuring the root system remains viable even after harsh winter conditions.
• Weed suppression: Due to its aggressive and dense tillering, this variety naturally crowds out invasive weeds, maintaining a pure stand.
• Texture and density: The fine-leaf structure provides a premium, velvet-like aesthetic while maintaining the strength to withstand moderate foot traffic.

The recommended seeding rate is 15–20 g/m². When planted at this density, 'Greensleeves' establishes a uniform, carpet-like cover without patchy areas. It is versatile enough to be used in parklands, residential lawns, and as a key component in premium forage mixtures. Its ability to retain color during moderate moisture deficiency is a notable strength compared to other red fescue varieties.

What sets 'Greensleeves' apart is its long-term viability. It is not designed for a quick, one-season fix, but for a lasting, low-maintenance turf solution. By developing a deep and robust root network early on, it ensures that your lawn or pasture remains healthy for many years. Choosing this DLF variety means investing in lower maintenance costs and superior visual quality over the long term.
