Calithva is a variety of the tufted fescue (Dactylis glomerata L.), a diploid species characterized by narrow leaf blades and short flag leaves. The plant forms an upright clump with a short stem and medium-length upper internodes. The leaves possess siliceous teeth, and inflorescences are produced weakly, heading out in the second year. The leaves retain a green hue in autumn.
The product features high decorative qualities, low growth habit, drought tolerance, and winter hardiness, making it ideal for lawn use and creating turf coverings of various purposes. Thanks to a highly developed root system and high regrowth speed, calithva quickly recovers after heading out and ensures a stable cover.
Calithva is especially recommended for greening shaded areas, reclamation of disturbed lands, road construction, and town planning. It is suitable both for decorative purposes and for practical tasks such as improving soil quality and stabilizing slopes.
