The "BARLINEUS" variety is a large barley (oat), developed within the "BARLINEUS" breeding program. It is characterized by high yield – up to 8–9 t/ha under optimal conditions, as well as good resistance to powdery mildew and fungal diseases in the soil and during early growth stages. The growing period ranges from 90 to 110 days, making it convenient for intermediate sowing of both spring and winter crops.
Grain quality is characterized by large, dense seeds with high protein content (≈12–13%) and starches. Seed color is a red hue, indicating a high level of chlorophylls, while grain density is in the range of 1.2–1.3 g/cm³. High protein content makes the variety suitable for producing flour with high protein and starch content, as well as for feed grains.
The variety is resistant to pests: moderate protection against rots and insects reduces the need for pesticide agents. It withstands both cold and hot conditions well, making it a universal choice for farmers seeking a stable yield in moderate climate zones. For successful cultivation, loose, fertile soil with good drainage is recommended; regular irrigation during dry periods not exceeding 30 mm/day and pest control according to a schedule for insecticide and fungicide application.
