Bluegrass ALESHA

The Reliability of «Alyosha» Kentucky Bluegrass

When selecting seed material for sports grounds or urban lawns, the main challenge is how long the cover will remain durable under intensive use. Kentucky Bluegrass «Alyosha», developed by the experts at SKFNAC (L.G. Bratkova, L.V. Polovyanova, A.N. Malykhina), is a prime example of breeding aimed at real-world performance.

Field Experience and Durability

The primary concern for any agronomist or facility manager is fungal disease. «Alyosha» demonstrates excellent resistance to helminthosporium and powdery mildew. In practice, this means lower expenditure on fungicides and fewer maintenance interventions, which is critical when managing high-traffic sports facilities.

This variety is predictable in performance: it maintains a steady, medium-green color that does not fade under standard care. The turf is dense, and the sod recovers quickly after stress, whether it is amateur soccer or heavy use in a public park.

Maintenance Guidelines

• Mowing: The variety handles regular mowing well, maintaining excellent density.
• Usage: Perfectly suited for high-traffic sports fields and landscaping.
• Protection: Due to its genetic resistance, «Alyosha» reduces the need for preventive chemical treatments.

If your goal is to create a sports pitch or a long-lasting lawn that won't fail after the first season of intense use, this variety from SKFNAC provides a solid foundation for your site.
