Year of inclusion in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine — 2005, recommended for cultivation in the Polissian and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. Registered in the Register of the Republic of Turkey in 2010.
Trial characteristics: variety erythrospermum. Spike is spindle-shaped, medium length (9-10 cm) and density (21-22 nodes per 10 cm of stem). Peduncles 7-8 cm long, flexible, serrated. Waxy coating on the upper internode — medium, on the spike — weak. Spikelet bracts 6-7 mm long, lanceolate in shape. Spikelet bract tooth short, slightly curved, shoulder straight, bract straight, medium length — 2 mm. Grain oval, red with shallow groove, medium size. 1000-grain weight 40-43 g.
Biological features: medium-maturing variety, ripens simultaneously with the standard Donetsk 48, medium height (plant height 86-93 cm), resistant to lodging. Winter hardiness increased — 8.4-9.0 points. Variety tolerant to powdery mildew, brown rust, and fusarium diseases.
Agronomic characteristics: intensive type variety. Potential yield 9.5 t/ha. In the competitive variety trial at the institute, yield reached 8.03 t/ha. In the average forest-steppe zone of Ukraine, after poor predecessors, the variety yields 6.03 t/ha, after good predecessors — 6.69 t/ha. In the Polissian zone, respectively 5.64 and 6.28 t/ha, exceeding the average standard by 27.4-37.6%. In 2005, at the DPDS 'Askaniyskoye' in the Kherson region under irrigation, yield was 9.18 t/ha. Baking and technological properties are excellent. According to data from the Ukrainian Institute of Plant Variety Testing, the variety Vasiliisa is one of the best winter wheat varieties in Ukraine for grain quality. Grain contains 12.9-14.0% protein, 28.5-29.8% gluten, flour strength 282-420 o.a., loaf volume from 100 g of flour — 650 cm3, overall baking rating 9.0 points. Belongs to strong wheats.
Agronomic requirements: must be grown using intensive technology, with black fallow as a predecessor and optimal doses of mineral fertilizers. To achieve high grain yields, plants must also be protected from pests using insecticides such as Danadim, Boray, and diseases using fungicides Folikur, Falcon, especially after heading. Seeds should be treated with fungicide in combination with insecticide before sowing. Sowing dates are optimal for winter wheat. Seed sowing rate is 4.5 million germinating seeds per hectare on fallow, and 5.0 million on non-fallow predecessors.
