Originator — Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Registered in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2006 for cultivation in the steppe zone of Ukraine.
Variety characteristics. Variety — leuсurum. Spike cylindrical, medium length 6-8 cm, medium density, glabrous, white, awned, non-shattering, non-breakable, medium drooping. Awns long, parallel, rough, serrated, white. Grain medium, elongated, amber-colored, medium groove, phenolic coloring weak, 1000-grain weight reaches 45 g. Spikelet sheath medium, lanceolate, venation weakly expressed. Ligule short, sharp, shoulder narrow, slanted, beak-like awn strongly expressed. Plant erect, stem strong, robust.
Biological characteristics. The variety is characterized by high drought resistance and high productivity potential. Medium-maturing variety, vegetation period duration 101 days. Moderately resistant to lodging, plant height 95-100 cm. Spike easily threshes. Resistance to rust and powdery mildew is at standard level; resistance to hard and powdery head rust exceeds standard.
Agronomic characteristics. Potential yield 5.3 t/ha. Gluten content 34-36%, protein content 14.5-16.5%. Pasta qualities good. Since 2010, the variety is a national standard of the State Service for Plant Variety Rights Protection for all zones of Ukraine, indicating its exceptional ecological adaptability.
Agronomic requirements. Sowing rate 4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Seeds must be treated with fungicide and insecticide prior to sowing.
