Originator — Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Year of inclusion in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine — 2009, recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine.
Trial characteristics: variety erythrospermum. Stem with weak waxy bloom on upper internodes. Spike cylindrical, medium length (9-10 cm) and density (21-22 nodes per 10 cm of spike length). Spikelet sheath shoulder narrow, slanted. Grain red, medium length and width. 1000-grain weight 41.0 g.
Biological characteristics: medium-maturing variety. Matures simultaneously with standard Podolyanka, medium height (plant height 95-100 cm), resistant to lodging. Winter hardiness at the level of best standard varieties Donetsk 48 and Zhemchuzhina Lesostepi. In field conditions tolerant to main harmful diseases.
Agronomic characteristics: high-yielding, universal type variety. Potential yield 12.0 t/ha. Under unfavorable conditions in 2006 and 2007, during the competitive variety trial at IP named after V. Ya. Yuryev, yield was 7.7-7.9 t/ha, in 2008 competitive trial — 9.45 t/ha, which is 0.38 t/ha higher than standard Podolyanka. Average yield on Lesostepi trial stations — 6.7 t/ha, maximum — 8.7 t/ha (Belozerkovsky DSS). In the company "Alcon — Service" in Dnepropetrovsk region yield was 7.5 t/ha, in 2012 at the technological test plot of the Institute of Agriculture of the North-East NAAN, yield was 11.6 t/ha. Grain quality excellent. According to data from the Grain Quality Laboratory of the Institute of Variety Testing, protein content — 15.7%, gluten — 33.0, flour strength — 370 o.a., bread volume from 100 g of flour — 600 ml.
Agronomic requirements: universal type variety, not demanding on growing conditions. Suitable for cultivation after various preceding crops, best are fallow plots, perennial grasses, corn for silage under conventional and intensive technologies, but maximum yield of Luxury is formed under intensive technology and optimal doses of mineral fertilizers. Protection of plants from diseases and pests should be conducted. Seeds before sowing must be treated with fungicide in mixture with insecticide. Sowing dates optimal for winter wheat. Sowing rate: 4.5 million viable seeds per ha after fallow, 5.0 million after non-fallow preceding crops.
