Genetic Potential and Productivity

The 'Rozkishna' winter wheat variety, developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, is classified as a high-intensity crop type. With proper agrotechnical management, the potential yield reaches 11–12 tons per hectare. A key productivity node is the variety's tillering capacity: it forms 4.5–5.0 million productive stems per hectare, creating a solid foundation for achieving its biological maximum under optimal stand density.

Morphological and Quality Metrics

Rozkishna features a moderate stem height of 90–100 cm, which, combined with strong resistance to lodging, allows for efficient use of nitrogen fertilizers without increasing the risk of crop loss. The awned spikes are a critical structural factor, promoting better grain filling across the diverse climatic conditions found in Ukraine.

Technological Advantages and Crop Protection

A primary trait of this grain is its gluten content exceeding 30%, categorizing it as high-value milling wheat with superior baking properties. The thousand-kernel weight (TKW) ranges between 35–40 grams, ensuring consistent germination energy. The variety possesses genetically inherent resistance to a wide spectrum of pathogens, including root rot and powdery mildew, which minimizes expenditure on fungicide applications and reduces environmental stress on the crops.
