Winter wheat variety Tonnage is a new yield record holder, confirmed by state trials COBORU in Poland in 2017, where yield reached 105.6 centners/ha with simplified agronomy. This variety is characterized by high productivity and is suitable for producers focused on maximizing output per hectare, without particular emphasis on quality indicators. Tonnage features high spikelet density and thousand-grain weight exceeding 50 grams, as well as excellent tillering ability, ensuring formation of a large number of productive stems. The variety is multi-purpose and suitable for all soil types. The vegetation period of Tonnage ranges from 260 to 274 days, plant height varies from 79.4 to 90.2 cm. Protein content in grain is within 13.1–14%, making it suitable for feed purposes. The variety exhibits high resistance to various adverse factors: cold hardiness, drought resistance, lodging, and shattering are rated 5–9 points, as well as high resistance to diseases and pests including powdery mildew, rust, Fusarium head blight, shore fly, and harlequin bug, with ratings from 6 to 9 points. For sowing, the variety Tonnage is recommended for early dates from September 5 to 10, optimal from September 11 to 30, and late up to October 10. Sowing rates range from 2.8 to 3.5 million seeds per hectare for optimal sowing and 3.8 to 4.5 million for late sowing. Thanks to its high yield, resistance, and multi-purpose nature, the variety Tonnage is an excellent choice for reducing feed production costs and enhancing agricultural efficiency.
