ROTAX

The winter soft wheat variety Rotax was developed in Germany and registered in the state register in 2018. This medium-maturing grain variety is intended for cultivation in forest-steppe and Polissia zones. Rotax has a vegetation period ranging from 261 to 276 days and plant height of 71-83 cm. The ear is cylindrical and of medium density, which contributes to good yield formation.

The variety is characterized by high yield, ranging from 53.3 to 65.2 c/ha (5.3-6.5 t/ha), with an average yield over five years ranging from 53.1 to 62.9 c/ha. Rotax exhibits high resistance to various adverse factors: drought, lodging, shattering, as well as diseases such as powdery mildew, brown rust, and fusarium of the ear, with resistance ratings of 8.3-9.0 points. The winter hardiness of the variety is also high — 8.3-8.9 points.

The grain quality of the Rotax variety is characterized by protein content of 13.1-13.4% and gluten content of 26.9-27.7%, which ensures good baking properties. Flour strength varies from 171 to 200 W, and the thousand-grain weight ranges from 36.7-42.7 g. Due to these characteristics, the Rotax variety is a reliable choice for producing high-quality grain with high yield potential and resistance to adverse conditions.
