Troyan wheat is a forage variety primarily intended for use in livestock farming. This variety is characterized by its high content of carbohydrates and protein, making it a valuable feed for animals. Troyan wheat is not suitable for human food consumption, but it stands out for its high yield and affordable price, making it an advantageous choice for producing compound feed.
The Troyan variety belongs to the hard wheat types, exhibiting good resistance to adverse climatic conditions such as drought and frost. High resistance to abiotic stress and diseases, including fungal infections and viruses, ensures stable yields. The ear length reaches up to 15 cm, which contributes to high yield and reduces losses of grain due to shattering or premature germination.
Troyan wheat is well-adapted to various regions of Ukraine, showing yields ranging from 60 to 90 centners per hectare, and in some areas reaching up to 97 centners. The stem height is approximately 1.20 meters, with up to 12 stems forming per plant, further enhancing the crop's productivity. Thanks to its characteristics and quality, this variety is a reliable choice for agricultural enterprises focused on producing animal feed.
