ZAGRava ODESSKAYA is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) intended for cultivation in various climatic zones, including Forest Steppe, Forest Zone, and the North Caucasus region. The plant is of medium height, reaching up to 96 cm, has a bushy form and a medium-early ripening group. The ear is large, cylindrical, of medium length and density, with well-filled grains of red color, oval or egg-shaped. The mass of 1000 grains is 42-45 grams, indicating grain size and high crop quality.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging, grain shedding, and has good drought resistance. It also demonstrates tolerance to a wide range of diseases and pests, including powdery mildew, rust, fusarium, as well as the Hessian fly and the shield bug. The grain is characterized by a high protein content (13.4–14.6%) and gluten (33–35%), which ensures a high evaluation of baking qualities — about 4.6 points.
ZAGRava ODESSKAYA is adapted to changing climatic conditions, is resistant to frost, heat and drought, making it a reliable choice for various regions. The variety demonstrates a stable yield of up to 10 tons per hectare at a sowing rate of about 5 million viable seeds per hectare. Due to its physiological-genetic water supply and water content mechanisms, as well as high resistance to diseases and pests, this wheat is a promising and effective option for agricultural production.
