German genetics for high-performance farming

The KWS Lazuli winter wheat variety by KWS is a premium soft wheat cultivar that balances a compact growth habit with a high yield potential. Developed in Germany, it is designed for intensive farming operations that prioritize crop uniformity, disease resistance, and reliable productivity across diverse growing conditions.

Agronomic profile and performance

With a plant height of only 60–70 cm, KWS Lazuli exhibits excellent lodging resistance, a crucial trait for high-input scenarios where nitrogen fertilization is utilized to maximize the crop's genetic potential. The bearded ear and soft grain characteristics ensure high milling quality.

• Yield Potential: Under favorable conditions and proper management, the variety provides a potential yield of 7 to 10 tons per hectare.
• Disease Resistance: The genetic profile of KWS Lazuli is built for resilience. It shows strong resistance against Septoria, Pyrenophora, and Fusarium head blight. Furthermore, it offers superior protection against major rust diseases, including yellow and brown rust.
• Winter Hardiness: Rated at 5 points (on a 9-point scale), it requires standard professional care regarding sowing windows to ensure successful overwintering.

KWS Lazuli represents the pinnacle of KWS breeding, offering producers a secure and profitable solution that stands up to environmental challenges while delivering high-quality grain.
