SI NILO is a variety of hard spring wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) characterized by a medium-maturity type. It was developed through controlled crossbreeding followed by selective breeding and is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including Kursk, Lipetsk, Pavlodar, Akmolinsk, Kostanay, and North Kazakhstan oblasts. The plant is semi-erect, the ear is parallel with a strong waxy bloom, white in color, medium length, and loose. The grain is large, elongated, with a mass of 1000 grains of about 51.1 g. The variety is distinguished by high yield, which varies depending on the region and growing conditions. In Kursk and Lipetsk oblasts, the average yield is 43.2 ц/ha, reaching a maximum of 89.6 ц/ha. In other regions, such as Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan oblasts, the yield fluctuates from 10 to 21.2 ц/ha, with maximum indicators reaching up to 40 ц/ha. SI NILO is resistant to lodging and shedding, as well as possessing high drought resistance, which makes it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The pasta qualities of the variety are high: raw gluten content reaches 36%, protein – 16.4%, glassiness of grain – 97%. The output of semolina is 45.2%, and the color of semolina and pasta products is rated at 4 points, indicating high product quality. The variety is widely used in the production of flour, bread, and pasta, thanks to its technological properties and adaptability to various growing conditions.
