Hard spring wheat variety 'Solnechnaya 573' is a medium-maturing crop with a vegetation period of 73 to 90 days. This variety was developed by Russian breeders of the Federal Altai Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnology using single-generation individual selection from the Angel x Gordeiforme 328 hybrid combination. The plant features a semi-upright bush, a long stem with strong pubescence on the upper node, and a pronounced waxy bloom on the ear and the blade of the flag leaf. The ear is pyramidal in shape, medium length and density, with long light-brown awns, while the grain is elongated and light in color. The 'Solnechnaya 573' variety is adapted for cultivation in the Western Siberian and Eastern Siberian regions, where it demonstrates a medium yield of approximately 24.1-26.1 quintals/hectare. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 35 to 48 grams, with protein content reaching 17.5% and gluten content at 36.4%, ensuring good milling and baking qualities. The variety is resistant to lodging, shattering, and drought, which enhances its reliability under unfavorable weather conditions. Regarding phytosanitary characteristics, 'Solnechnaya 573' exhibits moderate resistance to powdery mildew and loose smut, as well as moderate susceptibility to brown rust. However, the variety is highly susceptible to root rots and may suffer significant infection from loose smut under field conditions. These features require a careful approach to plant protection and the selection of agronomic measures to ensure a stable yield.
