Bezenchuyskaya 210 is a hard spring wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) variety characterized by medium maturity and excellent pasta-making qualities. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central Volga and Ural Federal Districts, including the Samara, Penza, and Orenburg regions, and the southern forest-steppe of the Kurgan Oblast lowland. The maximum yield of the variety was recorded in the Republic of Tatarstan, reaching 53.0 centners per hectare, while average yield indicators vary from 12.2 to 22.9 centners per hectare in different regions.
Bezenchuyskaya 210 differs in its moderate resistance to major wheat diseases, such as brown rust, solid smut, and powdery smut. Under field conditions, the variety is weakly affected by powdery smut, but it may be susceptible to powdery mildew. Thanks to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for cultivation in hot and dry climates, which is typical for the regions of its cultivation.
Hard wheat, to which Bezenchuyskaya 210 belongs, differs from soft wheat in its higher content of gluten and protein, ensuring high product quality, especially for the production of pasta. Cultivating this variety requires adherence to crop rotation, as well as precise harvesting and drying of grain to preserve its quality properties. Despite a lower flour yield during processing, hard wheat has high profitability, making it attractive for agricultural production.
