The Oksamit Myronovskiy wheat variety is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe, steppe, and Polisia regions of Ukraine. It belongs to the medium-maturing spring wheat group with a vegetation period of 88-97 days and plant height ranging from 77 to 93 cm. The ear is pyramidal and moderately dense, providing good resistance to lodging and shattering. Developed based on the line Lutecens 10-36, it was officially registered in the State Register of Varieties of Ukraine in 2017 for its high-quality grain.
Oksamit Myronovskiy stands out for its high yield, which in competitive trials exceeded the standard by 0.63 t/ha, with record yields reaching 6.87 t/ha. Its yield potential reaches up to 68 centners per hectare. The grain is large and well-filled, with 1000-grain weight varying from 35.5 to 42.5 g, test weight reaching 779 g/l, and vitreousness at 90%. The grain contains up to 14.1% protein and gluten up to 29%, ensuring high flour strength (260-399 arbitrary units), making this variety valuable for the bakery industry.
The variety exhibits comprehensive resistance to major diseases and stress factors, including powdery mildew, leaf septoria, brown leaf rust, Fusarium ear rot, root rots, as well as pests such as the cereal leaf beetle and the Swedish fly. Resistance levels for most parameters reach 8-9 out of 10, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions of drought and disease. Thanks to these qualities, Oksamit Myronovskiy is an adaptable and reliable variety for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones of Ukraine.
