Wheat variety GRANUS is a two-row type intended for spring-autumn sowing and adapted to various climatic conditions, including optimal and drought-prone zones, as well as forest-steppe and Polesie regions. This mid-season variety is characterized by high growth energy, ensuring rapid emergence in autumn. Plants have medium height, early heading, and medium maturity, with up to 560 spikes per square meter and up to 31 grains per spike. Yield potential reaches 88 c/ha, making it attractive for a wide range of agronomic conditions. GRANUS is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, resistance to powdery mildew, Fusarium ear blight, as well as good resistance to yellow and brown rust and leaf and ear septoria. The variety demonstrates resistance to drought and cold down to -14°С, allowing cultivation in various climatic zones. Recommended seeding rate varies depending on conditions: from 360 to 450 thousand seeds per square meter, with optimal sowing dates from early October to mid-April. The grain quality of GRANUS is high: protein content is around 13%, crude gluten up to 28%, thousand-grain weight varies from 48 to 52 grams, and density reaches 798 g/L. Flour obtained from this variety has strength of 260-282, ensuring good bread yield and high baking qualities. Grain storage is recommended at +7-10°С and humidity not exceeding 10%. The variety is suitable for sowing after late predecessors and can be used as winter wheat in case of frost damage.
