Maize Nature

French Breeding for the Canning Industry

In the market for processing-grade maize, the selection of specialized varieties is often limited. "Natura" by Maisadour Semences (Mas Seeds) is a highly specialized tool developed by French breeders to solve a specific challenge: ensuring the highest quality raw material for the canning industry.

Unlike grain hybrids focused on maximizing total dry matter yield, "Natura" was designed as a "food-grade" hybrid. Its breeding core is based on the organoleptic properties of the kernel: a tender pericarp, optimal sugar content, and a specific ear shape, which are critical for mechanical processing during canning.

Agronomic Features and Application

• Specific Focus: This hybrid was developed to meet industry standards where the appearance and taste of the kernels in the jar are more important than the total yield per hectare.
• European Quality: The genetic base of Maisadour Semences ensures excellent adaptability to the intensive cultivation practices typically used in vegetable maize production.
• Resilience: Like many products in the Mas Seeds line, this hybrid features a balanced immune profile, allowing for minimized chemical input, which is a key requirement for the food processing segment.

In the European agricultural market, "Natura" has established itself as a reliable choice for agricultural holdings and farms that supply food processors. Using this hybrid allows growers to forecast the output of commercial produce that meets strict industry quality standards. If your goal is to supply premium raw materials for the canning industry, "Natura" is one of those hybrids that perfectly covers the need for a stable, predictable, and high-quality harvest.
