The Enigma winter wheat variety is a simple inter-line hybrid obtained from the combination of Cubus/Delta. It belongs to the group of medium-maturing varieties with a vegetative period of 112-117 days and a plant height of about 175 cm. The grain is large, egg-shaped or oval in shape, and red in color, which ensures high quality yield. Enigma is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 130 c/ha, and oil content of 49-50%, which makes it attractive for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions.
The main advantages of the variety include high tillering, resistance to shattering and a wide spectrum of diseases. Enigma has high field resistance to brown and yellow rust, tolerance to soil acidity, as well as resistance to powdery mildew, root lodging, Fusarium head blight, Phoma, and white rot. Moreover, the variety demonstrates resistance to new races of necrotic brown rust complex and cyst nematode, which significantly reduces the risk of yield losses.
The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-steppe zones, where it shows high yield even in extreme conditions, including drought and dry winters. The optimal sowing density before harvest varies depending on soil moisture: 50-55 thousand/ha in zones with insufficient moisture and 55-60 thousand/ha in zones with sufficient moisture. Thanks to its adaptive properties and resistance to adverse factors, Enigma is a reliable choice for agrarians seeking to obtain a stable and quality yield.
