The Eleghia Myronovskaya spring wheat variety is a high-yield, high-quality variety of Ukrainian selection, recommended for cultivation in Forest-steppe and Polesie. This variety is characterized by early maturation and high plasticity to growing conditions, which allows for successful cultivation both with and without the application of mineral fertilizers. The wheat stem is strong and medium-height, reaching up to 100 cm, and the cylindrical ear, 9.5-12 cm long, contains a grain with stubble-like appendages. The potential yield of the variety reaches 5-6 tons per hectare, which corresponds to 65 centners per hectare.
Elegia Myronovskaya has high resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew and brown rust, as well as weak resistance to septoria, which requires the use of fungicides to protect the crop. The variety is also characterized by high resistance to drought and grain shedding, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. High gluten content (29%) and protein (15.7%) provide excellent baking qualities of the grain, which is especially important for the production of quality flour.
To achieve maximum yield, early sowing with a seeding rate of 5-6 million seeds per hectare at a depth of 3-5 cm is recommended. Good predecessors for the variety are sugar beets, soybeans, potatoes, and corn. Elegia responds well to foliar fertilization, which allows to further increase productivity and crop quality. This variety is a strong wheat with high biological yield and suitable for intensive and semi-intensive agriculture.
