NEMCHINOVSKIY 56 — a winter triticale variety developed through multi-year selection from the Antey variety. This hexaploid variety is characterized by mid-maturity with a vegetation period ranging from 316 to 340 days. Plants are semi-erect, 93 to 124 cm tall, with medium-length, dense, fully awned ears. Grain is large, semi-elongated, red in color, with 1000-grain mass varying from 40.2 to 47.1 g. The variety features high density of productive stems, good threshing ability, and high resistance to grain sprouting on the root.

NEMCHINOVSKIY 56 exhibits high winter hardiness and drought resistance, ensuring good plant recovery in spring. The variety is resistant to diseases such as yellow and stem rust, powdery and solid bunt, and has moderate resistance to brown rust, powdery mildew, and septoria. However, it is highly susceptible to snow mold. Lodging resistance is at the standard level. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is recommended for cultivation in regions with a moderate climate, such as Leningrad, Moscow, and Smolensk regions.

This triticale variety is versatile in application: its grain is used as fodder raw material, as well as in confectionery, bread-making, brewing, and distilling industries.
