Triticale Alkid

Winter Triticale «Alkid» by VNIS: Genetic Reliability

The agricultural market in Ukraine is increasingly turning towards high-performance crops that can withstand biotic and abiotic stresses. «Alkid», a winter triticale variety developed by VNIS, is a prime example of breeding excellence focused on stability and ease of cultivation.

Key Features and Performance

«Alkid» is a winter variety designed to provide consistent yields across various soil and climatic zones of Ukraine. With a plant height of 100–110 cm, the variety offers an excellent balance between biomass production and resistance to lodging, which is vital for high-input farming systems.

Main Competitive Advantages

• Superior Phytosanitary Profile: The variety carries strong genetic resistance against wheat leaf rust, septoria, and powdery mildew. This reduces the need for frequent chemical interventions, making the production process more sustainable and cost-effective.
• Hardiness: Developed specifically for local environments, «Alkid» provides reliable winter survival and rapid spring vigor, ensuring a uniform stand density.
• Production Versatility: Due to its high protein content and yield potential, it is highly valued both as a primary crop for feed production and as a raw material for the food industry.

By integrating «Alkid» into their crop rotation, farmers gain a resilient variety that mitigates the risks associated with major fungal diseases. VNIS has successfully positioned this variety as a robust solution for modern agrobusinesses looking to maintain profitability through genetic efficiency rather than excessive input dependency.
