Triticale Kentavr

Stable yields in challenging environments

The winter triticale "Kentavr" by the brand "Franz" is a selection product developed by the Federal Rostov Agricultural Research Center for farms seeking a balance between high productivity and biological crop security. Amidst modern climate risks and fluctuating infection backgrounds, this variety distinguishes itself through its "genetic armor."

Disease resistance as a primary asset

The main advantage of "Kentavr" lies in its complex resistance to a broad spectrum of pathogens. Unlike many varieties susceptible to foliar infections, this hybrid effectively withstands:

• Various types of rust and powdery mildew;
• Seed mold;
• Mycosphaerella and brown spots.

Of particular note is its resistance to septoria, which allows agronomists to significantly reduce fungicide expenditure, a critical factor for production profitability in the current season.

Agronomic performance

The variety is characterized by a medium height, ranging from 90 to 120 cm. This is the optimal range for successful mechanized harvesting without the risk of lodging. Such structural plasticity allows "Kentavr" to adapt to different soil types while maintaining a stable, well-developed ear.

Who is this variety for?

"Kentavr" is an ideal choice for farmers focused on sustainable production or operating in high-humidity regions where the risk of fungal disease is traditionally high. It proves resilient even when agronomic practices are not perfect, thanks to its high inherent vitality. This makes it a "safety net" variety for producers who refuse to compromise on potential yields by cutting costs on low-quality seed material.
