Description Alexander
The winter triticale variety Alexander represents a high-yielding grain fodder crop intended for cultivation in the Northwestern region and other zones with similar climatic conditions. The plant is characterized by a long stem height ranging from 88 to 123 cm, a semi-upright bush, and early heading. The ear is white in color, medium length and density, and fully awned. The grain is large, elongated, and red in color, with a 1000-grain mass varying from 40.3 to 52 g. The vegetative period ranges from 312 to 338 days, allowing the variety to successfully adapt to regional conditions. Lodging resistance is above average, and winter hardiness is at the level of standards, ensuring reliable survival through winter.

The Alexander variety boasts high grain yield, with average indicators reaching 26.6 c/ha in the Northwestern region. However, the plant is susceptible to snow mold and is heavily affected by septoria, while it is weakly affected by brown rust. Due to these characteristics, the variety requires a careful approach to disease protection to maintain high yield potential. Moreover, the variety is distinguished by high drought resistance and tolerance to complex predecessors, making it a universal and reliable choice for various agricultural technical conditions.

A feature of the Alexander variety is its universality in use: it is suitable for baking, fodder, and technical purposes. The grain is distinguished by high milling and baking qualities, with protein content ranging from 13 to 16% and raw gluten content of 28-34%. Flour strength reaches 200 units, and the volume of bread without improvers is about 600 ml, confirming the variety's high overall baking rating. It is recommended for autumn and spring sowing in Forest-steppe and Polesie, with a sowing rate of 4.5 million/ha for autumn and 5.5 million/ha for spring sowing. Potential yield for autumn sowing exceeds 12 t/ha, while for spring sowing it is over 6.5 t/ha, making the variety attractive for agricultural producers seeking high productivity and product quality.
